Folks,

We are responding to a heavy volume of calls asking what to do. Please understand, we are not privileged to any information before you. We are monitoring our TV set like everyone else should do for further developments. Coney Island has been issued a mandatory evacuation order by the city to higher grounds. It is recommended that you move in-land to family or friends while Hurricane Irene passes through.

You were given evacuation centers to go to,they are posted on the entrance doors and in all elevator enclosures, but these centers will be over crowded to say the least. If any ones knows of neighbors that will have difficulties leaving, it has been advised that you call 311 for assistance.

The National Weather Service forecasts that impacts of Hurricane Irene will reach the New York metropolitan area this weekend, potentially bringing tropical storm or hurricane force conditions which can include heavy rain and strong winds. 

In preparation for the stormy weather, we ask that residents please close all windows if away from the apartment for any period of time during the storm.
