Building #5 is 100% complete in terms of the façade restoration project. Our architect of record, L&M is in the process of signing off the façade restoration project for building #5 with DOB which will eliminate the scaffolding around the building, open the main entrance for all to use and finally remove the years of expenses to keep these scaffolds up.
Mobilization for building #3 has begun. You will notice that more safety fencing is going up around the playground area, but rest assured that the center playground shall remain open for all to use. The entrance for the center playground will be from the walkway closest to building #2. It will involve a few more feet of walking, but the playground will be available for everyone’s enjoyment. Residents of buildings #3, 4 & 5 will have to walk on West 8th street to Neptune Avenue and cut across by parking lot #3 to gain access to.
As the mobilization continues on building #3. L&M is in the process of closing out the permits at building #5. Now, L&M will file the Local Law 11 report to the DOB and upon approval of said report, the BEST Squad will inspect the site for our final sign off which will allow for the scaffolds to be removed. We will be able to return building #5 to normal pre- construction days very soon. Barricades and safety fencing will be removed shortly. We will keep you posted, but for now, please view the new traffic pattern for building #3.
